When it comes to getting Enlightened, almost every seeker does it, as we say in English, ‘arse backwards’. It simply means the wrong way around. However in the case of getting Enlightened, it would indeed be better for a person to lead with their arse (or any other part of their body) instead of their brain.
Enlightenment and mind are two mutually exclusive states. This does not mean however that they cannot peacefully co-exist side-by-side. They can, but like oil and water, they can never overlap. A blast of Enlightenment can benefit the mind and change one's personality and relationship to life.
If Enlightenment is, as I assert, a state of being and not a state of mind then knowledge, the stuff of the mind, cannot improve it. However that mental stuff –
thought – can unfortunately distract a seeker's attention away from their own imminent and already-delivered Enlightenment. Attention is typically the mind's personal apparatus of focus. Therefore attention cannot lead to Enlightenment because it happens in and through the mind's mental channel. Instead de-attention leads to Enlightenment. Think of attention as a taut highwire which keeps a seeker, who balances on it, high in the sky. For the seeker to fall into themselves the wire needs to relax. As they plummet towards the safety net, they will find that they become so tiny that they pas through the whole's of the net. Don't try to understand or correct that last sentence; we are leaving behind the realm of the known to encounter that which has never been known. We can only be it.
In recent Teacher Calls, we have been leaving the known behind with surprisingly good results. Who would have thought that leaving behind thought could have been so good, so relaxing, so ahhhh just right? So if we have to break language a bit to do that then let's do it!
Here are a few meatless aphorisms to get your chompers into:
- Only One Thing – what you are missing is what you are not missing
- You don't need to know anything – only Be it
- Knowing is the opposite of Being
- Knowledge is the trap, Being is the goal
Say this aloud to catch the rhyme if not raison: "Mindless, meatless but not mindful. Be at the next Call!"
...You might be able to order a replay but it’s best received at the live event while participating with your presence, comments and questions.
This Teacher Call is open to all and especially vital for registrants for the 11th-18th July Summer Island Enlightenment Transmission Retreat ‘Assuming the Enlightenment Transmission Position’.
